On the 2nd day of the October 2001, a ceremony was taking place in the Lions Activity Centre, There were some young people seated in one side, the meeting was called to order and this was the beginning one of the greatest Leo club in the world. The installation ceremony of the Leo club of Colombo Wekanda, then it was yet another Leo club for the Leo District 306 C.
| With the patronage of the Lions club president Lion Dickson Jayasinghe, who him self was the extension chairman, Leo Nalaka Liyanage became the charter president, Vice district President Leo Janaka Peiris as the charter secretary and the charter treasure was Leo Lahiru Jayasinge together with Leo Madhawa and Leo club Advisor Lion Asiri were instrumental in extending the Leo club and few senior Leos Tuan, Bhagya and Madhura joined hands with the others and took their seats in the club as charter members, Then none of them would have thought that this young club will bring the greatest fame ever to our mother Lanka by becoming the Best Leo Club of the World. |
